Randomize it.
There has been a small update to the dictionary section; it is the addition of a “random button” beside the search one. This button should take you to a random English-Tigrigna dictionary entry. Give it a shot.

IPA
IPA stands for the International Phonetic Alphabet. It’s the universal script that linguists use to map out the phonetic sounds of every word in every language in the world. So (theoretically) if you are familiar with the IPA you can perfectly read out loud, any text, in any language, perfectly, as long as that text [...]

Slight addition to the dictionary section
I was surfing the internet when I ran into an awesome online dictionary called Wordnik. It is an evolving online English dictionary that was recently launched by its founder Erin McKean. Long time readers of this blog (I know you’re out there…) might recognize her from the small blog post I made about her TED [...]

New on the Eritrean dictionary scene…
After months of delay, Asmarino.com has now completed its metamorphosis to become Delina.com. Asmarino.com is one of the oldest Eritrean community websites still running (the other is Dehai.org). It is based in the US, completely independent and serves as a forum for those Eritreans who oppose the Eritrean government or it’s politics. It’s also multilingual [...]

Erin McKean wants us to redefine the dictionary
Erin McKean, a very funny lexicographer, wants everyone to help in redefining the dictionary. She makes the point that we tend to define the “dictionary” as a dusty old book that sits on our book shelf at home; we should be moving beyond such a definition to include all (or as close as we can [...]
